What can I say I have, many times, written about how Paige Shelton started my love of cozy mysteries This is the 1st book in her 3rd series and I could not be happier If you have never read a cozy mystery, this is the perfect book to start with It s fantastic First the characters are endearing from the start and then the story is amazing I hope there will be many, many, many to come for Clare and everyone in Star City
A wonderful cozy and great beginning for a new series I enjoyed reading about the location, a fictional town, but similar to Park City, Utah, which I have visited I learned to type on a manual typewriter, so our protagonist s profession repairing old typewriters struck a chord in my memory Delightful and interesting side characters who add fun and challenges for our lead individual Lots of potential for relationships and interaction to come in future books I look forward to reading them.

Paige Shelton has a new winning series with TO HELVETICA AND BACK What an unusual premise Clare Henry and her grandfather run Rescued Word, a shop that specializes in all things printed, such as paper and printing supplies, book restoration, typewriter repair, and even printing on a huge press When Clare accepts an old typewriter for repair she discovers some kind of code Then a man who wants to take the typewriter ends up dead, and the investigation ensues This is a lovely setting Star City is [...]
When a loyal customer brings her typewriter into The Rescued Word to be repaired, Clare Henry is shocked when a stranger follows her in demanding to buy that exact typewriter and only that typewriter The next morning, the stranger is dead behind the shop What was he so obsessed with that typewriter Did it have anything to do with his murder This may be a debut, but the characters are already sharp, and I loved them for it Several sub plots revolving around them really helped with that Unfortunat [...]

I love this new series Perhaps because I remember typewriters all too well, and learned how to type on an antique even at that time heavy typewriter, or possibly because of the way the author writes it is fresh, exciting, a woman who loves the setting she writes of and the topic even A fun mystery except for the dead guy, of course that was a challenge to try to figure out who the bad guy or gal was The characters mesh well, the protagonist heroine a delightful blend of wit, innocence, fun, and [...]
Paige Shelton has done it again This may be my favorite series by her She has created another series in a town I would like to visit and characters that I d love to meet This book kept my attention from page one I loved the concept of Bygone Alley and the nostalgia brought about by remembering manual typewriters I still remember the satisfaction of typing, hearing the bell and returning the carriage I can t wait to read about the characters and how they grow and relate to each other This book i [...]
I love a book where you feel part of the action These are new characters who I want to get to know better Some books are like spending time with old friends, and when the book ends your sorry you can t continue visiting I don t like doing spoilers in reviews and this one is difficult to keep from doing so Beat feet to the book store and snap this one up in my humble opinion
FAIR WARNING Before I get into a discussion of the story and its merits, I will be indulging in some wandering personal thoughts and ideas You can skip down to the part called Actual Review Starts Here if you don t want to bother with any of the preliminaries.I started reading Paige Shelton s books when I discovered that she lived in Utah, where I live She has since moved to Arizona, which is a close second best to Utah She had two series of cozy mysteries going at the time One involves a young [...]
I am from one of last generation that learned to type on typewriters rather than on computer keyboards so the delight of the opening of this series is extra special not only for a terrific store name of The Rescued Word and cast of characters the author has introduced but also for the wonderful memories of typing class in 11th grade, all the related idiocracies of typing on the actual typewriter equipment I ve used from manual to electric, and the all nighters with a college roommate, an English [...]
I very much enjoyed this first book in the Dangerous Type series by Paige Shelton The characters were all fairly unique and likable The heroine Clare works in a family owned specialty shop called The Rescued Word with Chester, her grandfather It was fun reading about the restoration of old typewriters and rare books The former mining town turned skiing village was also interesting Shelton does a very good job describing the town and its inhabitants.I very much liked that Clare had a brain, and d [...]

Claire and her grandfather, Chester, have a typewriter repair and stationery store in Star City, Utah The descriptions of Star City make me want to go visit and look through the quaint shops and walk around looking at the homes in the town I love the relationship between Claire and Chester.Well written and totally hooked me in from the start Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Honestly, this may be the best cozy mystery I ve read in years I cared enough about the characters to keep reading, I didn t solve the mystery 5 pages into the book, and I found myself hoping the author has written books It was still a cozy convenient romance, over explanations, wrapped up in a bow and all, but it wasn t an annoying story at all.
I like a cozy mystery about books, and this isn t a bad example okay, its technically about typewriters, but you use them to write books, right It did seem to take too long to really get anywhere it was obvious what the clue found by the protagonist was immediately, but it still took her half the book to figure that out Still, the characters were likeable, and the setting has potential.
