openbooksociety article a Brought to you by OBS reviewer KaytThis is the first book I have read in Rosie Genova s An Italian Kitchen Mystery series I was immediately drawn in by entertaining characters, wonderful writing and the descriptions of some super yummy food A great main character, Victoria Vic Rienzi is a mystery writer The fact that she is a writer actually helps to make her interest in the mystery feasible than some cozies Her family is loving but also very hard working As this books [...]
This is another juicy cozy from Rosie Genova It takes place right on the Jersey Shore where I grew up, and is filled with family drama, lots of good cooking, and a great Mob flavored mystery I enjoyed it from appetizer to dessert
First I want to mention that this is the third book in this series Don t let that stop you from reading this out of order The author smoothly provided back story in the right places without slowing down the story and I easily became familiar with the characters and previous events. Now to the book How could I pass this up A cozy mystery with the main character being a successful mystery writer.Victoria Rienzi, or Vic, returned to Oceanside on the Jersey shore a few months ago She s trying to writ [...]

Another great story by Rosie Genova Had me guessing to the very end Glad than just the murder was solved nicely done
Victoria Rienzi, successful mystery writer, continues to write a non mystery book about her own family background on the Jersey shore Also, she continues to learn the family restaurant business where she s been in the middle of two murders in the few months since she s returned home Here we go again Town drunk Pete Petrocelli implies he knows a few things she could put in her next mystery novel and soon after, he winds up dead Vic s mother asks her to see if she could find out what happened to h [...]
Thank you to and Penguin Random House for opportunity to win a copy. This is a great cozy read Love it when the main character is smart and likable This is the first in the delectable Italian Kitchen Mystery series that I have read I have already requested the first two The novel has a great setting and location an Italian restaurant on the NJ Shore The characters are developed with diverse personalities It s easy to picture them in your mind from Ms Genova s descriptions Everything seemed authen [...]
This was the third of a series of cozy mysteries written by Rosie Genova and in the end, it is my favorite I have loved reading this book for a variety of reasons including the fact that it is set at the Jersey Shore This particular book leads us to the dark and steamier side of Atlantic City unlike Donald Trump who leads us to almost nowhere on the boardwalk any Regardless, the story was filled with interesting characters some of whom have appeared in other books previously written in this seri [...]
I think this is my favorite book in this series so far In this book we learn about Vic s ancestry despite the fact that Nonna doesn t want to talk about it much I m always fascinated by genealogy so this focus grabbed my attention.Of course there is a murder and the choices for killer aren t large and I have to admit that I guessed everyone but the person that did it The author does a good job of leading you in many directions without really giving away the killer in clues. There is even some de [...]
I like a cozy mystery that brings something different to the table In this book it is the close knit family aspect that really intrigued me I haven t read the first two books in the series, but I quickly caught up to the relationships between the characters The mystery is intriguing as it has a lot to do with the family s history The writing was well done and the recipes at the end look really yummy I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I love this entire series but A Dish Best Served Cold was by far my favorite Its ending was as satisfying as a meal at the Casa Lido Ms Genova hit all the right notes and paints such a vivid description of the Jersey Shore and the restaurant that I felt like I was actually there I am hoping there will be many books featuring Vic, Sofia, Tim and of course, Nonna.
This is the 3rd in the Italian Kitchen mysteries Vic and her family are getting ready for the 70th Anniversary for their restaurant An old family friend stops by and tells them he knows something that would make a good mystery novel Later during a big storm he is found dead and Vic using the guise that she is writing a family history novel, figures out family secrets and what really happened
Rating 3.5 syars
This series just keeps getting better better Such a fun mystery Really enjoyed the genealogy aspect will my family tree offer any surprises, I wonder
I really enjoyed reading this book It kept me wanting to get to the end to see how it all came together The in depth relationships of the characters was interesting to say the least
I absolutely love this series and am eagerly awaiting the next book to see what delicious mystery will be served up
Another juicy, fun, and delightful cozy mystery from Rosie Genova.
Another winner by Rosie Genova Her books keep getting better and better Love the little treasure of recipes at the end Can t wait for book 4
I have really enjoyed this series There are only 3 books so far Hoping there will be Victoria is a mystery writer but has taken a break to write a book about her Italian family So she moves back home to the Jersey shores to help out in the family Italian restaurant so she can learn about cooking and her family Unfortunately a murder seems to get in the way In this book the local homeless man, Pete, stops by for free food and wine leaving with only food but before he goes he tells Victoria that [...]
I love this series The whole family is engaging, the food mouth watering, the story well written and a page turner.I hope Vic s historical fiction book will actually be produced That would be exciting, and something I d like to read after all the backstory.
Victoria and Sofia are investigating again, but the death of Stinky Pete may have been an accident Or was it The they dig, the likely it was murder This series is fun and an easy read, but the plot in A Dish Best Served Cold seemed a bit contrived.
This was an enjoyable book I liked that the mystery wasn t obvious to figure out and that it wasn t too confusing to have started with the 3rd book in the series.
A Dish Best Served Cold by Rosie GenovaThe Third Italian Kitchen MysteryA storm is brewing on the Jersey Shore and soon Vic Rienzi finds herself in its midst An old family friend, who also happens to be a dissolute, unwanted semi nuisance, tells Vic he has stories to tell for her mysteries, but before he is able to tell anything he is found dead Is he simply a victim of the hurricane, or a victim of someone who needed his silence While most people believe his death was merely an accident, Vic an [...]

A Dish Best Served Cold is another installment in Rosie Genova s Italian Kitchen Mysteries It is top in the genre of Cozy Mysteries and loved by me for the true Italianess of the main characters The characters are fine Italian people, not gangsters, not tramps, laze abouts or punks, none of the caricatures and commonness that is forced into the public consciousness by opportunists and those with prejudices.Plus, Rosie Genova includes authentic recipes in the back of each book It has adult situat [...]
