As other reviews have said this book is not only Elizabeth s Story but also the story about some of what we read of in history as to the emerging issue of women s rights Enter Mary Wollstonecraft s Vindication of the Rights of Woman. The heroine in our story is forced to lie, even if it is a white lie or a half truth to ones she cares about in her efforts to fight to save Darcy, a man who loves her and whom she has discovered is the one responsible for locating her sister, Lydia, and bringing an [...]

There s plenty of electricity between the two characters with Darcy in his usual protective, wanting to always be in control mode, and Elizabeth not backing down to him Her character is definitely strong willed and impertinent, and she and Darcy have some great back and forth volleys as they clash over her actions on his behalf Darcy s frustration with his inability to protect her is obvious It s also clear to the reader that Elizabeth is in love with him long before she figures it out herself b [...]

Thoroughly enjoyed this PP variation It was of an adventure mystery novel, which was a fresh take on the original Mr Darcy is on trial for murder as the result of a duel with a gentleman, and Lizzy uses her charm and affability to investigate Some feminist themes were explored, which I can see Elizabeth embracing, but maybe not being quite so vocal about Despite this, I thought it was very well written and kept me wanting to know what happened next
